The Wait Is Finally Over! 🔥
After weeks of testing, tweaking, troubleshooting and waiting for updates, we’re incredibly excited to announce that the brand-new NuperGaming Project Zomboid B42.21 server is finally getting ready to open its doors!
📅 Launch Date: 14th October 2026
⏰ Launch Time: 7:30 PM GMT
👥 Maximum Players: 30
🌎 Server Location: US
We’ve spent a lot of time working behind the scenes to build a server that offers a challenging but enjoyable survival experience, with plenty of additional content, progression, exploration and, of course…
ZOMBIES! 🧟♂️
Whether you’re planning to build a fortified compound, become a master mechanic, explore the wilderness, hunt for supplies, raise a loyal companion or simply see how long you can survive before something inevitably eats you, there’s something waiting for you in Knox County.
🛠️ Weeks of Testing
Getting a heavily modified Project Zomboid B42 server ready for launch has been quite the journey.
We’ve been testing configurations, waiting for updates, checking mod compatibility and making adjustments to try and ensure everything works as smoothly as possible.
Our mod collection brings a huge amount of additional content and gameplay changes to the server, giving survivors plenty of new things to discover as they explore the world.
From additional weapons and equipment to animals, vehicles, construction, storage, crafting and survival improvements, we’ve tried to create an experience that feels familiar while still giving you plenty of reasons to keep exploring.
And, naturally, we’re expecting the unexpected. 😂
After all…
This is Project Zomboid.
You aren’t supposed to be safe.
🐕 Bring a Companion Along for the Journey
Surviving the apocalypse alone can be pretty miserable.
Thankfully, you don’t necessarily have to do it alone! 🐶
Our server includes companion animals, including the ability to have companion dogs.
You can have up to 5 pets/companion dogs, giving you another reason to venture out into the dangerous world.
Of course, there’s a slight problem…
The zombies don’t care how cute your dog is. 😬
So look after your companions and think carefully before taking them somewhere particularly dangerous!
🔨 Build, Craft, Explore & Survive
The NuperGaming B42.21 server isn’t just about killing zombies.
We’ve included a wide range of additional gameplay systems and mods designed to expand what you can do in the apocalypse.
Whether your goal is to construct an impressive base, improve your survival skills, repair vehicles or simply collect everything that isn’t nailed down, there’s plenty to keep you busy.
🏠 Build & expand your base
🚗 Repair and maintain vehicles
🔧 Develop your crafting and survival skills
📦 Make use of expanded storage options
🌱 Farm and produce your own supplies
🏹 Explore alternative weapons and survival methods
🐕 Take companions along on your adventures
💰 Trade and interact with the wider survivor economy
There’s plenty to discover, and we’re hoping the community will find its own unique ways to use the systems available.
🧟 High Population. Low Expectations. 😂
We’ve deliberately kept the zombie population HIGH.
This isn’t intended to be a server where you clear one street and then spend the next three months living peacefully.
Zombies will continue to migrate, and respawns are enabled.
Current Zombie Settings
🧟 Zombie Population: High
🔄 Zombie Respawn: Every 2 Weeks
🚶 Zombie Migration: Every 10 Days
🏃 Base Sprinter Chance: 3%
And that last setting brings us to one of the features we’re particularly excited about…
🏃♂️ Zone-Based Sprinter Difficulty
We’ve introduced different sprinter percentages across different areas of the map.
The entire map starts with a base sprinter level of 3%, but certain areas are significantly more dangerous.
When you enter a zone, an on-screen information box will show the name of the zone and its difficulty, giving you an idea of what you’re walking into.
But don’t get too comfortable.
Knowing the percentage doesn’t mean you won’t panic when one comes running around the corner. 😱
🗺️ Zone Difficulty
| 📍 Zone | 🏃 Sprinter Chance |
|---|---|
| 🌲 Rosewood | 1% |
| 🔒 Rosewood Prison | 3% |
| 🌊 Riverside | 5% |
| 🏙️ West Point | 5% |
| 🌲 Fallas Lake | 2% |
| 🏚️ Muldraugh | 4% |
| 🏭 Brandenburg | 8% |
| 🏡 Ekron | 2% |
| 🏘️ Irvington | 4% |
| 🏁 Irvington Speedway | 6% |
| 🏘️ March Ridge | 3% |
| 🌆 Louisville | 10% |
| 🏙️ Valley Station | 7% |
| 🌳 Echo Park | 2% |
⚠️ Louisville: 10%
Yes.
10% sprinters.
You’ve been warned. 😈
The idea behind the system is to make travelling around Knox County more interesting. As you move further across the map, you won’t just be thinking about how much loot you can find.
You’ll also need to think:
“How fast can the things trying to eat me run?”
🎒 Starting Out
Nobody likes starting with absolutely nothing.
That’s why we’ve included a small basic starting kit to get you on your feet.
You’ll start with:
🏏 Baseball Bat
💧 Water
🎒 Small Bag
You’ll also receive:
⭐ 12 Free Trait Points
This gives everyone a little bit of flexibility when creating their character while still leaving plenty of room for meaningful character development.
📈 Progression & Skills
We’ve also made some changes to progression to make developing your survivor rewarding without making the early game excessively slow.
⚡ 1.5x XP
Experience gain is currently set to 1.5x.
You’ll still need to put the work in, but you’ll be able to develop your character at a slightly more forgiving pace.
📖 100% Skill Journal
We’ve also enabled a 100% Skill Journal.
Project Zomboid is a game where death can happen in an instant.
Sometimes you make a mistake.
Sometimes you get surrounded.
Sometimes a zombie appears where you absolutely did not expect one.
And sometimes…
Project Zomboid just decides it’s your time.
The Skill Journal helps reduce some of the frustration of losing significant progression after a death.
🏠 Claim Your Territory
Once you’ve established yourself, you’ll be able to claim your own safehouse.
🏠 Safehouse Claim: 1 Day
🚗 Vehicle Claims: Up to 5 Cars
🐕 Pets: Up to 5 Companion Dogs
👥 Faction Creation: 3 Days
Whether you want to live alone in the woods, form a faction with friends or establish yourself in a heavily fortified town base, the choice is yours.
Just remember…
Someone else might have the same idea. 👀
☣️ Infection Settings
We’ve also made some changes to the infection mechanics.
🦷 Transmission: Bite Only
☠️ Infection Mortality: 1–2 Weeks
This means that simply being scratched isn’t going to automatically mean your survivor is doomed.
But if you get bitten…
You’d better start thinking about your next character. 🧟
💡 Water & Electricity
The lights aren’t going out immediately.
We’ve currently set:
💧 Water: 12 Months
⚡ Electricity: 12 Months
This gives players plenty of time to establish themselves, build bases and explore before the traditional long-term survival problems really begin to bite.
Of course, when the utilities eventually disappear…
That’s when things get interesting.
🔄 Server Management
We’re also running a number of automated systems to help keep the server maintained.
🔄 Server Reboots: Every 6 Hours
💾 AutoSave: Every 30 Minutes
🔧 Automatic Mod Update Reboots: Enabled
⏱️ Mod Update Checks: Every 15 Minutes
👥 Maximum Players: 30
Our aim is to keep the server maintained and up to date while minimising unnecessary downtime.
⚠️ Important: Build 42 Bugs & Basement Issues
Now for the important bit.
As much as we’ve tested the server, Build 42 is still a work in progress, and there are unfortunately bugs within the game itself that are outside of our control.
One issue we’re particularly aware of is basement alignment.
In some circumstances, basements can appear to be incorrectly aligned with the building above them.
This can result in some strange glitches and unexpected behaviour.
Unfortunately, in certain circumstances, these glitches could potentially result in a character’s death.
We want to be completely transparent about this before launch.
🛠️ What happens if a bug kills you?
If you encounter a confirmed game-related issue, particularly one involving basement alignment, please contact an admin.
We will be more than happy to investigate the situation and, where appropriate:
🔧 Admin-fix the affected tiles
🏠 Correct the area to help prevent further issues
🎒 Reimburse lost items
📈 Help restore legitimate progression where appropriate
We obviously can’t guarantee that every death will be reversed — after all, dying to zombies is part of the game! 😂
However, if you’ve genuinely lost your character or equipment because of a known game bug, we’ll do our best to make things right.
📜 Settings Can Change
Finally, please remember that all server settings are subject to change.
As Build 42 continues to develop and mods receive updates, we may need to adjust settings, remove incompatible mods, change values or introduce new systems.
We’ll always aim to keep the community informed when significant changes are made.
The goal isn’t to create a completely static server.
It’s to build something that evolves alongside Project Zomboid and the NuperGaming community.
🚨 The Countdown Begins!
After weeks of testing and waiting for updates, we’re finally approaching launch.
The apocalypse officially begins on:
📅 14th October 2026
⏰ 7:30 PM GMT
There is no safe place. 🧟🔥
🎮 See you in Knox County, survivors.
Good luck. You’re going to need it.
